It is nestled in the eastern portion of the Hiawatha National Forest and on the outskirts of the Sault Ste. Marie State Forest. The Chippewa County International Airport is 39 miles north in Kincheloe, Michigan. The nearest place to get urgent care is Mackinac Straights Hospital, 17 miles southeast in St. Ignace, Michigan.
